Warm Summer Memory PDF Print E-mail
I wrote this poem to capture the memory of me and my Marine
watching the sunset over the valley from my porch before he left for training.

Warm Summer Memory

His soft brown eyes assure me that everything will be alright.
My eyes wander back to the golden sun setting over the distant
mountains, as the florescent hue blankets the valley below.

The cotton from the trees dances in the sun's warmth as his words
dance in my ears, and the distant trees whisper as we drift away on the
steady soothing sound of the creaking porch swing.

The warm summer breeze caresses my hair as his arms find their way
around my body.

Warm and alive,I have never felt so content. The scent of summer
flowers lingers on the air, as I think to myself,

"I hope this moment never ends."

But all good things must end, even if only for a little while,
and I know that we will always dwell there in my memory, until once again,
his soft brown eyes assure me that everything will be alright.

I love you PFC Landon!!
