A Christmas Prayer

The snow falls gently upon the ground
Covering the Earth not making a sound
The moon glistens brilliant off this sheet of white
The cold of darkenss, replaces warmth of light
The stars are shining in the brightened sky
A tear falls silent from my eye
A tear provoked from a single thought
Trapped as a memory now forever caught
Of a family gathered around a tree
Holding hands and speaking of me
A child asking " Will Dad be here?"
A Mother turning to wipe a tear
Then turning to smile at the child of mine
And assuring the child that all is fine
The child finds comfort within her smile
Her strength is my saviour all the while

Let me think of them upon this day
Ask me nothing, i've no words to say
But know in your heart where i wish to be
Home for the holidays with my family
Let me dream as the child opens each gift
And his joy give her heart a little lift
Let her smile, make her tears go away
For no one should cry on Christmas Day

Just let her know that my heart is there
And make her feel how much i care
Tell her my thoughts every now and then
God, tell them I LoveThem, thankyou.... Amen
