Doubtful

Doubtful

At first I was doubtful, about wether you should go.
Then I realized it would help us grow.
I awaited that day when you would go away.
Telling you how I wish you could stay.
Time flew by and that day came.
Then I knew things would never be the same.

God knows I spent a ton of money on stamp after stamp.
In order to write to you at boot camp.
I hoped my letters brightened your day.
You know the ones I've sent since May.

Our daughter has learned so many things.
She now walks, runs, plays, and sings.
I tell her I know you don't recognize him anymore.
But that's your daddy who will love us forever more.

All I can tell you is I am so proud.
And I will shout it out loud
You are my love........My husband.......My Marine
