Makes Me Wish

Makes Me Wish

To have one more hug,
To have one more kiss,
Makes me wish I never took you for granted.

To want one look from your tender eyes,
To want one smile from your gentle lips,
Makes me wish I didn't let you leave that morning.

To be missing you,
To be needing you,
Makes me wish I held you closer.

To be going through pain,
To be feeling insane,
Makes me wish I never knew you.

To realize that I live in a world of violence,
To realize that I live in a world with corrupted minds,
Makes me wish I never felt the feeling of hatred.

To fear war,
To fear loss,
Makes me wish you hadn't joined.

To wake to tragedy,
To wake to thousands of lives lost,
Makes me wish I never fell asleep.

To know you are one of few,
To know you'd risk your life not only for our family but
many,
Makes me proud to say that I married a Marine.
